Xav. Steiger, Constance, circa 1800. Fine and unusual 18 ct. gold and silver "bras en l' air" watch. Two body, forme quatre baguettes" with reeded band, gold engine-turned back, pendant and bow. White enamel with the applied gilt brass figure of a gladiator, pointing hours and minutes with the hands on two Arabic sectors when depressing a button on the pendant. Hinged gilt brass full plate with baluster pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel endpiece. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In very good condition. Diam. 55 mm.
