François Alexandre Monnier à Genève, No. 32294, circa 1790. Fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, pearl-set quarter repeating watch. Double body, Louis XVI, with split-pearl set bezel, the band with champleve enamelled decoration, the back panel enamelled with a fine painted scene depicting two maiden and a boy putting flowers on a grave (slightly restored), outer champlevé decoration over a black ground. Glazed gilt bras protecting case. White enamel with Breguet numerals. Gold "croissant" hands. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance, flat balance spring, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel endpiece. Repeating on a bell by depressing the pendant. Signed on the dial and the back plate. In good condition. Diam. 50 mm.
