Joseph Wetz in Wein, Austrian, circa 1850. Extra large silver and enamel form watch designed as a double bass with vinaigrette compartment. Two-part, the back engraved with foliage with black and white enamelled musical score on a scarlet translucent enamel over engine turning, the cover of scarlet tranlucent enamel with engraved "F" holes, the neck en suite with black key board (slightly restored), silver pegs and wire strings. Hinged gilt brass full plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain brass three-arm balance with flat spring and regulator, gilt brass continental cock with polished steel end-piece. Gilt movement compartment with a vinaigrette. Signed on the movement. In good condition. Dim. 142 x 51 mm.
