Jas. Gudin, Geneva, No. 22905, circa 1840. Fine and rare 18 ct. gold and enamel, "cabriolet" pair cased watch. Outer three body, bezel and back with engraved foliage decoration over a green ground, the back with a finely painted mountain landscape, with a waterfall. Inner four body, the bezels engraved with a foliage decoration, the back decoration matching that of the outer case and centred with two maiden in folk costumes ( slightly restored). Hinged gold cuvette with engine-turned border and engraved with technical details. Gold engine-turned with Roman numerals and subsidiary seconds, the centre with a floral decoration. Blued steel Breguet hands.
