Mixed Metal and Opal Cuff, Michael Zobel, c. 1989, the wide cuff with shaped opal tablet, applied bead accents, sterling silver and gold mount, interior cir. 6 1/4, lg. 2 3/8 in., signed. Note: Michael Zobel was born in Tangier, Morocco, in 1941, and trained in Pforzheim, Germany, at the School for Arts & Crafts. His jewelry combines aspects of the wearable and the theatrical, as evidenced by the suite offered here. The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Museum of Arts and Design in New York, and several European institutions hold examples of his work.
