TOULMOUCHE" on a presentation plaque, identified on a label from Childs Gallery, Boston, on the frame backing. Oil on canvas, 28 3/4 x 23 1/2 in. (73.0 x 59.5 cm), framed. Condition: Stable craquelure, light surface grime. Provenance: A private Massachusetts collection. The label from Childs Gallery,169 Newbury Street, Boston, Mass. 02116 has the following type-written information: "#1998F/ A. Toulmouche - Mother and Child/oil on canvas 29 x 23 inches." There is a circular label from Hub' Molding Company, 43 to 47 Haverhill St., Boston, on the back of the frame. Lined, subtle varnish inconsistencies, several scattered dots of retouch to the u.r. quadrant, no additional condition issues to report.
