Dwight Blaney (American, 1865-1944) House on the Homosassa River, Florida Signed and dated "Dwight Blaney. 1894." l.l., identified in inscription, in a later hand, on the backing, a partial Foster Brothers label affixed to the reverse. Watercolor on paper/board, sight size 19 1/2 x 13 1/2 in. (49.5 x 34.3 cm), framed. Condition: Toning, light scattered staining, subtle rippling, not examined out of frame. Provenance: A Massachusetts estate. Sheet size 20 x 14 inches. Watercolor is hinged to the back mat using brown paper tape across the top verso. Toning to the sheet, mild acid burn from the mat l.r. corner. Slight rippling to paper center top in area of palm trees. Water stain to frame backing which did not penetrate to the mat.
