Chinese Export Silver Trophy Cup, Shanghai, late 19th, Tuck Chang & Co. , makers, the ovoid body chased and embossed with figures on a portico, with small central shield engraved as the Tientsin Cup, with addorsed dolphin-form handles, the lid with finial formed as a cluster of foo dogs, on stem form as a cluster of writhing dragons, three suspending orbs from their mouths, on ovoid knop and tiered foot with leaftip rim, ht. 12 3/4 in., approx. 41 troy oz. lacquered, some some tarnish below and yellowing of lacquer. good, with minor age wear. shield engraved "Tientsin Cup won by 'Robinson Crusoe' owned by J.G. Murray, Esq. Ridden by S.J. Morris Esq."
