Three-piece Japanese Export Gold-washed Silver Tea Set, early 20th century, comprising an ovoid teapot chased and embossed to body with a large coiled dragon, the lid with coiled dragon-form finial, the spout formed as a serpentine dragon's head, and with dragon-form handle, ht. 8 1/4, with a double-walled open sugar with dragon handles, ht. 5, and double-walled waste bowl, dia. 5 3/8 in., both with conforming dragon decoration, approx. 64 troy oz. all engraved with a small Japanese character, and with light rubbing to goldwash. open sugar: light dings throughout, with a dent to upper rim causing small section of seam opening (approx. 3/4"). One dragon handle pushed in at upper rim slightly. waste bowl: seam slip around full circumference of upper edge, with numerous metal tears, and two spots of metal loss (approx. 2" total loss). light dings to body, and numerous pinpoint to interior. pot: minor beds to horns of dragon at handle. spots of visible solder at join of foot rim to body (possibly a strengthening repair).
