H, boat shaped, with deep ogee rim, with acanthus scroll handles topped by grotesque bird busts, the body chased and embossed with acanthus scrolls on stippled ground, with monogrammed shield, and conforming ovoid foot, ht. 8 1/8, lg. to handles 16 1/4 in., approx. 38 troy oz. unengraved shield with possible monogram/engraving removal, as there is loss to crispness of decoration to leaves at sides of shield. minor light surface scratching to interior.
