Provenance: The sculptor, until 1910, to his widow, until 1923; by gift to the American Academy and Institute of Arts and Letters, New York, until 1989, at Hirschl & Adler Galleries, New York; a private collection. Exhibitions: Primary Models: American Plasters 1880-1945, Hirschl & Adler Galleries, New York, 1990. Restored diagonal break along right side of figure's body (on cloak) with resulting retouch approx. 3 1/2"H.
