School of Leonardo Coccorante (Italian, 1700-1750) Landscape with Classical Ruins and Figures Unsigned. Oil on canvas, 29 1/2 x 49 5/8 in. (75.0 x 126.0 cm), unframed. Condition: Lined, canvas deformations in the corners, retouch, yellowed varnish, surface grime, craquelure. Retouch in the lower left quadrant, along bottom edge, and in scattered areas on the right hand side. Broad areas of probable old retouch throughout the sky. Possible areas of over cleaning. Probable flattening of impasto due to lining. Sections containing the figures and much of the columns present in better condition.
