Louis Kronberg (American, 1872-1965) Ballet Girl Signed, dated, and inscribed "1914/LOUIS KRONBERG [Star of David]" l. r., identified on a label from The Buffalo Fine Arts Academy, Albright Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York, affixed to the backing. Pastel on paperboard, 25 1/2 x 19 in. (64.8 x 48.3 cm), framed (under glass). Condition: Tacks and abrasions to the margins, not examined out of the frame. Exhibitions: Ninth Annual Exhibition of Selected Paintings by American Artists, May 16-August 31, 1914, Albright Art Gallery, Buffalo, New York, cat. no. 73. The paperboard support is tacked to a cloth-covered wood stretcher. Wear, abrasion, and loss to the support in the u.r. corner, and toning overall with normal wear along the edges. The stretcher is inscribed in pencil "Studio 10 Copley Hall Boston Louis Kronberg/Feb 1914."
