William IV Rosewood and Mother-of-pearl Inlaid Jewelry Casket, sarcophagus-shaped, with ovolo carved rims, inlaid to lid and front panel with scrolled plaques of birds amidst foliage, later converted from a tea caddy to a jewelry casket with velvet-lined interior with one removable tray, on flattened ball feet, ht. 7 1/4, wd. 13 1/4, dp. 9 1/8 in. lacking handles. left side of lid with restoration to loss of mother of pearl inlay. filled shrinkage crack to front panel of lid. slight bubbling of veneer to right and left sides of lid. some losses to ovolo trim at lid, and to trim at edge of one hinge. minor loss to mother of pearl at top of escutcheon. no key present.
