American Aesthetic Movement Cast-iron and Tile-mounted Walnut Hall Tree and Pair of Matching Side Chairs , c. 1880, the hall tree with open angular decoration and mounted with English black and white tiles, mirrored back, two small medial drawers and cast-iron drip pan, the coat hooks with maiden's heads; side chairs of similar design with tile-mounted cresting, plank seat and turned legs; hall tree ht. 85 1/4, wd. 36 1/4, dp. 12 1/4; chair ht. 17 1/2 in. Hall tree: nice, old finish; upper section very good with age typical minor defects; ribbed panel below mirror with two long shrinkage cracks; lower section with shrinkage cracks around both tiles; tiles with light surface scratching and minor discoloration to one; base dirty and with fairly heavy usage wear with many dents, scuffs and scratches. Side Chairs: Age typical minor wear overall; seats almost completely covered with tiny dents; one seat with a hole in the front right corner; good old finish.
