Henri Matisse (French, 1869-1954) Femme nue allongée , 1928 Signed "Henri Matisse" in pencil l. r., inscribed "...TR 955 1145.64..." in pencil on the reverse. Graphite on paper, sheet size 13 1/2 x 19 1/8 in. (34.3 x 48.6 cm), framed. Condition: Restored tears, cloth tape hinged to backing mat, subtle mat burn, tack holes to corners, deckled edges. Provenance: Heinz Berggruen, Paris (by 1973), acquired by the family of the present owner c. 1975. N.B. We wish to thank Wanda de Guébriant for kindly confirming the authenticity of the lot. Two restored tears on woman's torso, measuring approx. 1 3/4 in. and 3/4 in. length.
