Federal Cherry, Wavy Birch, and Mahogany Veneer Inlaid Desk/Bookcase, probably New Hampshire, c. 1800-10, in two sections, the upper section with hinged doors opening to eight drawers with bird's-eye maple diamonds and six valanced compartments, set into lower section of four cockbeaded drawers and fold-out writing surface, brasses appear to be original, old surface, (imperfections), ht. 59, wd. 41, dp. 20 in. veneer on drawers cracked from shrinkage, the lid is warped and cracked, two-board lower sides, lifting to crossbanding at base.
