Condition: Retouch, varnish inconsistencies, losses to tacking margin, restretched, craquelure. Scattered minor retouch with strokes along the edge of the subject's neck and chin. Varnish irregularities, including a circular area around the sitter's head and an area of varnish bloom (6 x 6 in.) in l.l. corner. Craquelure. Surface grime. Back of canvas shows dirt and staining.
