Classical Mahogany, Part-ebonized, and Gilded Work/Vanity Table, mid-19th century, rectangular paneled top with fitted interior of wells and a mirror; above an ogee drawer and work basket, on a trestle base with twist-turned supports and splayed feet, ht. 30 1/2, wd. 19 3/4, dp. 15 in. Top warped to front and not flush to base; interior with cracks around mirror; two minor patches to edge of ogee drawer; moderately heavy shrinkage and veneer popping to work basket; gilding and ebonizing later; age typical additional minor defects.
