Pair of American Aesthetic Movement Fruitwood-inlaid Rosewood Club Chairs, c. 1885, in the manner of Herter Brothers, each with openwork borders of flowering vines and inlaid with flowerheads, overstuffed arms and seat, on vine-inlaid and leaftip carved legs ending in paw feet, seat ht. 18, wd. 19, dp. 21 in. top cresting possibly later. Very good; age typical minor wear; the frames are quite sturdy and tight; there are a couple of minor breaks to openwork to backrest, but no losses. Ht. to top of cresting 37 in.
