Two English Baleen-handled Toddy Ladles, one Birmingham, 1845, maker's mark D&H, the bowl engraved with flowers and C-scrolls and inset with a thaler coin dated 1767, lg. 13 5/8, the other unmarked, with spouted bowl inset with a goldwashed George II coin c. 1750, bright cut monogram, lg. 13 1/4 in., approx. 4 troy oz. The 1845 example with small metal tear and the silver endcap on handle. The 1767 example: spout likely later, and with a tiny metal tear to edge of spout. minor wear to baleen.
