This painting was awarded the Robb Sagendorph Memorial Prize in September, 1977, at the Fall Members' Exhibition of the Copley Society of Boston. Robb Sagendorph founded Yankee Magazine in 1935. The lot is accompanied by biographical information about the artist and by a letter from Nancy A. Senger (Mrs. Harry L.) to the Guild of Boston Artists. Also included are two pages from Yankee Magazine [January, 1978], where the watercolor was illustrated and the award announced.
