19th century. Pale orange to brown marble inkstand with elongated pen well in front of two gilt bronze lidded inkwells that flank a patinated bronze eagle with feathered wings extended glancing over its shoulder and grasping a cluster of arrows with its large talons. Additional gilt bronze mounts in floral and leaved form on square base below eagle and on front of inkwell. Inkwell raised on three gilt bronze feet with dotted accents (one foot missing). Height 7.4", width 11.25", depth 6".
