Italian Violoncello, Enrico Melegari, Turin, 1887, bearing the maker's label and stamp in the pegbox, length of back 75. 3 cm. This instrument has lost most of its original varnish, but retains an even essenza grassa ground coat. Button repair, face cracks at saddle and neck joint, two small puntcures to rib c-bout, bass side, loss of edge pieces at saddle and neck joint. Stop length 40.7 cm.
