Polynesian Carved Wood "Lizard Man" Figure, Easter Island, Moaimoko, c. 19th century, an unusual standing male form with hand/claws to the upper chest, the upward gazing oversized head with a combination of human/lizard features, the inlaid eyes appear to be jade rings with obsidian centers, dark patina, ht. 26 in. Provenance: Arthur Rothenberg collection, purchased at a Bond Street Gallery in London 1943-44.
