J. E. Van Bois (Continental, 19th Century) Orientalist River View, Possibly the Nile Signed "J.E. Van Bois." l.l. Oil on canvas, 24 x 42 in. (61.0 x 106.7 cm), framed. Condition: Retouch, craquelure, minor surface grime. Two resin stains to the reverse (presumably from consolidation of the paint verso)--one to sail top, one below building to the l.r., retouch to the sky area with the largest area in the u.r. quadrant measuring approximately 1 1/2 x 2 in., scattered retouch to the sky in all four quadrants.
