Six Lithograph Portraits of American Indians, Philadelphia, early 19th century, hand-colored and by various lithographers, STUM-A-NU/A FLAT-HEAD BOY, drawn, printed, and colored at J. T. Bowen, published by D. Rice and A.N. Hall; four titles: TUSTENNUGGEE EMATHLA/A CREEK CHIEF, two titled CHIPPEWAY SQUAW & CHILD, and MAJOR RIDGE/A CHEROKEE CHIEF, lithographed, colored, and published by J.T. Bowen; one titled O-POTH-LE-YO-HO-LO/SPEAKER OF THE COUNCILS, Rice Rutter & Co. publishers, (imperfections, not examined out of mats), sight size approx. 10 x 6 in., matted. Most of the lithographs are shrink-wrapped under mats-so were not examined out of mat. STUM-A-NU/A FLAT-HEAD BOY- two subtle creases rt. and left of head, tear slightly visible at top of left crease. TUSTENNUGGEE EMATHLA/A CREEK CHIEF- lightly toned, minor fox marks, superfluous oval embossed mark "Young Men's Christian Union/Boston" l.l. facing arm, a few small edge tears and abrasions, tear l.r. corner, light stains. CHIPPEWAY SQUAW & CHILD (red dress)- minor foxing few small edge tears, all appear not laid down. CHIPPEWAY SQUAW & CHILD (w/ blue mantle and child on back- paper slightly rippled and toned. MAJOR RIDGE/A CHEROKEE CHIEF- lightly toned, minor fox marks, superfluous oval embossed mark "Young Men's Christian Union/Boston" l.l. facing arm, light stains, sm. edge tear c.r. O-POTH-LE-YO-HO-LO/SPEAKER OF THE COUNCILS- very good.
