Dutch Marquetry-inlaid Walnut Slant-lid Desk, 18th century, in honor of a wedding and allover decorated with heraldic devices of two houses and arabesques, the lid opening to reveal an interior fitted with valanced compartments and drawers flanking a medial door and well, the bombe case fitted with four short over two long drawers, on hairy paw feet, ht. 41, wd. 44 1/2, dp. 22 in. Veneers cleaned up and re-glued, with small areas of loss, and several patches. Shrinkage cracks to lid and sides of case. Lid warped, so that it does not close completely.
