Framed Continental Silk Needlework and Needle-lace Sampler, 19th century, stitched with bands of multicolored patterns, over band of animals, birds and trees, initialed "JC," with rows and blocks of varying needle-lace patterns, in mahogany frame with brass fleur-de-lis to corners, sight size 13 3/4 x 10, frame 17 x 13 1/4 in. overall toning and browning. Some thread losses. Sampler is actually larger than the frame size, so a section of the needle extends outside the back of the frame.
