Carlo Sergio Signori (Italian, 1906-1988) Two Works: Tete Geometrique and Fan-shaped Head Unsigned, each identified on labels beneath the base. Carved white marble, sizes to 12 x 15 x 3 1/8 in. (30.5 x 38.1 x 7.9 cm), set within a black marble plinth. Condition: Minor abrasions beneath sculpture. Provenance: Through Galerie Rive Droite, Paris, to the estate of an arts benefactor, New York. Geometrique 12 x 14 x 3 3/4 in. (30.5 x 35.6 x 9.5 cm). Sculptures rotate freely on their plinths, and can be lifted from the plinths. They both have surface grime that appears easily removed. Fan-shaped Head has a curved scratch at the bottom, measuring 4 inches overall, that is accentuated by dirt within the scratch. The measurements of the plinths are about 4 x 4 x 3 inches for the smaller, and 3-1/2 x 4 x 3-1/2 inches for the taller.
