Umberto (Bert) Crenca (American, b. 1950) The Ceremony . Titled, monogrammed, and dated "...UC83" l.r., also signed or inscribed "UMBERTO CRENCA..." on the backing. Mixed media on paperboard, 14 x 22 in., framed. Provenance: Sold to benefit the Temple Beth Israel and St. James Catholic Church, both of Danielson, Connecticut. N.B. Crenca founded AS220, Providence's premier unjuried and uncensored art and performance space, in 1985. He studied at Rhode Island College, and continues to guide AS220 as its artistic director.
