Silk Needlework Patriotic Picture with American Eagle and Flags, China, late 19th/early 20th century, executed with silk and metallic threads on a silk ground depicting a spreadwing eagle figure, padded and with a ceramic eye, with American flags, shield, banner, and stars in the background on a blue silk field, (tears and repairs to background fabric), 20 1/2 x 29 1/2 in. , in a molded giltwood frame. Several repaired tears to blue silk ground, three unrepaired tears at u.c. near edge, appears to ahve been archivally repaired and framed, but later tears have formed along the upper edge..
