Lealand R. Gustavson (American, 1894-1966) Illustration for Inside Story , intended for Blue Book Magazine , probably the March 1939 issue. Signed "Gustavson" l.r., identified on a label from Blue Book Magazine and with a label from Great Harbor Gallery, Madison, Connecticut, both affixed to the reverse. Ink, whiting, and graphite on very fine unstretched canvas, sheet size 12 3/8 x 11 in., framed. Condition: Tack holes around perimeter with a small hole at u.l. corner, handling creases, soiling, mat burn, sheet hinged to window mat. Provenance: From the estate of the artist. The label from Blue Book Magazine on the reverse indicates that the artwork was received by them 12/10/38.
