Rare Antique Miniature Ring Watch, Pierre Morand, late 18th century, the gold dial with raised Arabic numeral indicators on matted ground, cylinder movement key-wind and key-set, rose-cut diamond bezel and shoulders, the back engraved with crossed quiver and arrows, 13 mm, signed on the dial rim, (alterations). Note: A similar example by Morand was sold at Antiquorum, April 18, 1998, lot 61. Watch is lacking key- we cannot determine whether or not it is running. Hands appear to be later. One rose-cut diamond missing from shoulder. Discoloration under rose-cuts, not obtrusive. Crystal with age-typical scratches. Minor and old evidence of solder at shoulders, not obtrusive and only visible from the back. Overall wear to engraving. Shank probably sized.
