Possibly the Work of Eunice Pinney (Connecticut, 1770-1849) Strolling Couple with Stumbling Suitor. Unsigned. Watercolor on paper, 3 5/8 x 5 7/8 in., in a molded giltwood frame. Condition: Laid down onto period paper, creases, scattered paint losses. There is glass over the work, it has some age (small bubbles and a bit of waviness, the edges are gilded but are covered by the edges of the frame and the matt, so it is probably not original. The work is applied (glued) to a piece of period wove paper then taped on the upper corners to the matt.
