Pair of George III Silver Wine Coasters, Sheffield, 1775, John Roberts & Co. , makers, reticulated with flutes, and chased and embossed with husk swags, urns, and patera roundels, with turned mahogany bases with small central ivory roundel, dia. 5 1/2 in. marks a little rubbed, but still clear. each applied with a slightly later crest-engraved roundel. some surface age wear. typical usage wear to finish of wood.
