Chinese Export Lacquer Sewing Box, China, 19th century, paneled sides gold and enamel decorated with figures in courtyard settings, compartmented interior with numerous carved ivory accessories, lg. 14 1/4 in. Top with fading and moderately heavy gilt wear; shrinkage cracks and further evidence to interior. Chipping around edges of base drawer. Chipping to right front and back left foot. No lifting to lacquer.
