William & Mary Mulberry Veneer and Walnut Slant-lid Desk, England, c. 1690, of typical form, the fall front writing surface enclosing a fitted interior with valanced compartments, drawers, files, central locked compartment, and a well concealed by a sliding panel, over case fitted with two short and two long graduated drawers, fall and drawer fronts with herringbone inlay, on bun feet, ht. 38 7/8, wd. 38 1/4, dp. 22 1/8 in. Age typical wear and age, shrinkage cracks, and worming. Brasses original, feet likely original. Recently cleaned and some veneers re-glued. Good age and wear to top and edges of writing surface.
