Painted Cast Iron Mechanical "I Always Did 'Spise A Mule Mechanical Bank," manufactured by J. & E. Stevens Co., Cromwell, Connecticut, c. 1879, by placing a coin in the slot under the seated boy and pressing the knob, the mule turns around and kicks the boy over as the coin is deposited into the bank, (scattered paint wear), ht. 6 1/8 in. scattered paint losses and surface grime, does have original coin plug.
