Florence Leif (American, 1913-1968) Field , Possibly Near Provincetown , c. 1950, from Artists Who Marry Artists Exhibition, 2007 . Unsigned, stamped "F.Leif Dec. 19 1978" on the stretcher, with a Bert Gallery, Providence, label on the reverse. Oil on canvas, 12 x 18 in., framed. Condition: Paint loss l.l., mild surface grime. N.B. Florence Leif studied at RISD and the Summer School of Painting with John Frazier in Provincetown, Massachusetts. Her works were exhibited from 1938-2003 in galleries along the east coast.
