Framed 1829 Needlework Sampler, Three Rewards of Merit, and Photographs, "Mary E. Tompkins Aged 8 ---- 1829," the sampler worked in silk threads on a linen ground, stitched with alphabets, her signature, and date, 11 x 8 in., accompanied by the maker's three printed rewards of merit, a small oval photograph of her at age 61, and a small photo album with pictures of Mary and other family members.
