Chinese Export Silver Presentation Bowl, Shanghai, c. 1919, with two handles and a lobed lower body, upper body with incised Chinese characters to one side and on the other an English inscription: "Presented to Mr. Thos. Sammons, US Consul General for Shanghai in appreciation of his cordial friendship to the Chinese on his transfer to Australia by Chu Pao-san." with a further list of names, impressed marks to underside including a Chinese character mark, "Woshing" and "Shinghai," ht. 6 1/4, wd. 14 1/4, dp. 8 3/4 in., approx. 34.1 troy oz.
