French Louis XV Silver Chocolate Pot, Paris, 1765, no maker's mark, with large charge and discharge marks, and Maison Commune date mark, with heat valve and thumbpiece to lid, turned wood handle at ninety degree angle to spout, and pear-shaped body on three feet, ht. 6 in., approx. 8.2 troy oz. Solder to one foot; dent to body below the spout and just below that what appears to be an old repair, more evident from the interior.
