Pair of Polychrome Vases, China, flattened baluster form, the body decorated with eight panels each depicting one of the Eight Buddhist Emblems amidst stylized lotus blossoms and scrolling foliage on yellow ground, the panels separated by archaic chilong in underglaze blue, the splayed foot with a ruyi border, the waisted neck embellished with stylized ruyi -shaped clouds, straight lappets, and a pair of flanges, flanked by handles, gilt details, with turquoise glazed base and interior, six-character Qianlong mark on base, ht. 13 1/2 in. minor loss of gilt
