Minton Majolica Nautilus Shell Centerpiece, England, date cipher for 1874, shell with seated mermaid to back and mermaid across the front body with putti and seaweed garlands, shell supported by two mermen with their tails scrolled together on oval base, impressed mark, ht. 20 1/2 in. Professional repainting from mermaid's knee down including ribbon behind her with crack to restoration on mermaid's foot (need's redoing), one inch hairline crack to rim.
