Copper Butterfly Weathervane, attributed to J. W. Fiske, New York, late 19th century, pierced cutout sheet copper figure with copper wire antennae and legs, mounted on copper rods with orb terminals, yellow and verdigris surface with traces of earlier gilding, with stand, ht. 20 1/4, lg. 22 1/4 in. Provenance: Purchased at a Hercules Pappachristos auction, at the Ipswich, Massachusetts, VFW Hall. It was found in an estate on the north shore of Massachusetts. Note: For a similar example see J.W.
