George Protzman (American (New York), late 19th/ early 20th century. "Portrait of a Gentleman", watercolor on paper laid down on canvas, signed and dated left above center "Protzman 1885". A well rendered painterly formal bust length portrait painting depicting a man in buttoned tan or khaki suit coat with white collared shirt and blue tie, with well groomed mustache and prominent nose set under piercing blue eyes. Verso of frame with period paper label "From The Albany Art Gallery / Annesley & Co. / No. 57 North Pearl Street". Framed approximately 38.75" x 35.75. Unframed approximately 22.5" x 19.5".
