Jade Covered Ewer, China, elongated pear-shape with flattened sides, with a handle in the shape of a phoenix and a loose ring, the spout decorated with carved archaic motifs each side with a shou character surrounded with the Eight Buddhist symbols within a roundel, a floral spray with a bat, a double coin, and peaches to neck, the cover with an openwork ruyi design with two loose rings as the knob, splayed foot, four-character Daoguang mark to recessed base, celadon stone of yellow tint with white to gray inclusions, ht. 8 7/8 in.
