Medical Officer's Dress Epaulettes, c. late 19th century, gold bullion epaulettes with a gold embroidered 6 on a blue velvet circle, a gold major's leaf, and silver embroidered MS , a japanned tin case with a paper label which reads Geo. W. Sargent/C.O. D Lawrence,/Mass. , with a central compartment containing bullion lieutenant's bars, a spool of gold gilt thread, and pins for tacking down the insignia.
