Connecticut State Guard's Dress Uniform, the scarlet wool coat with black velvet central panels, adorned with silver-tone flat buttons and stripes of metallic embroidery, with heavy metallic rope embroidery to epaulets, the navy blue wool pants with metallic-embroidered scarlet wool tuxedo stripe, accompanied by dark blue velvet leggings, black leather holster, and white cotton gloves. Provenance: Sold to benefit the acquisition fund of the Hood Museum of Art, Dartmouth College.
